Academic Member. MS degrees in Communication, Automation, Computer Science, Mathematics and Philosophy. PhD in computer Science. 1959-72, Deputy Director, Siberian Institute of Mathematics of the Academy of Sciences; 1972-93, Chair Communications and Informatics; 1993-present, Vice-president, International Academy of Informatisation; 1999-present, President, European Academy of Informatisation. His pioneering work in informatics won for him the Lenin Science Prize in 1957. He has published over 300 scientific papers, 25 monographs and 20 patents.
