Robert Gerard Guidoin
Founder Member. BSc, MSc and PhD in Chemistry; DSc in Biological Engineering. Main fields: Biomaterials and medical devices (blood conduits, valves, stents) and artificial organs (artificial heart totally implantable, membrane oxygenator). Assistant Professor of Surgery (1976) leading to Associate Professor (1981) and to Professor of Surgery (1986), Laval University. Founder, Quebec Biomaterials Institute, 1992. He has published more than 200 refereed papers in biomaterials and/or artificial organs journals.

Ludmila Knezkova-Hussey
Academic Member. Doctorate in Music. Concert pianist, composer, choral conductor, chamber performer. Extensive experience in working with choirs as director and accompanist. Founded the Ludmila Knezkova-Hussey International Piano Competition (1993). Her repertoire includes most of the popular classical solos and over 50 concertos for piano and orchestra. She performs as a soloist worldwide. Numerous recordings with radio stations, CBC Radio regularly records her concerts. She won an international piano competition in Germany, 1989; the Czech Republic, 1980; and Russia, 1976.

M. N. S. Swamy
Founder Member. Main fields: Circuits, systems and signal processing, number theory, educational programme development. Research Professor and Director of Signal Processing and Communications, Concordia University. Previously Dean of Engineering and Computer Science at Concordia University for 16 years. Fellow Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, the Institute of Electrical Engineers and the Engineering Institute of Canada. He introduced the first computer engineering bachelor's degree programme in Quebec.
