Main fields: Mathematician and educator. 1947-51, Secondary school teacher; 1951-present, Assistant, Assistant Professor, and Full Professor. 1958-66, Faculty Dean; 1966-76, President of the University. 1976-89, Vice-Minister of Education. Deputy President and Secretary General, Vietnamese Mathematical Society, 1966-80. Member of the Permanent Committee of the Organisation of Teachers, 1966-84. Advisor to the Organisation for the Promotion of Education, 1996-present.
